A: 100 miles / hour x 1 hour / 60 minute x 1 minute / 60 seconds = 100 miles / 3600 seconds = 0.028 miles / second is how fast Alex Edler can shoot a hockey puck. Congratulations to our Grade 8 Kumon Math student, Jason N for being the first name drawn with the correct answer.
Week 2:

1. How many assists per game did Guy Lafleur score?
2. How many goals per game did Steve Shutt score?
3. Together, how many points did Steve Shutt and Guy Lafleur score? (hint: 1 point = 1 goal or 1 assist)
A: 1. Guy Lafleur, 80 assists / 80 games = 1 assist per game
2. Steve Shutt, 60 goals / 80 games = 0.75 goals per game
3. Total points by Steve Shutt and Guy Lafleur: 60 + 40 +56 +80 = 236.
Any way you look at it, 236 is a remarkable amount of points for TWO players to score!

We are happy to announce that we are ready and excited to serve the residents of this community that we live in, work in, and play in.
Let us tell you a little bit about our centre.
Our centre is located at the First Avenue Marketplace, alongside our neighbours such as T&T Supermarket, Scotiabank, restaurants and cafes, offices and personal services, and much, much more. The Marketplace is right on the corner of First and Renfrew in the heart of East Vancouver. We are conveniently located on a bus route and are only a short walk from the Renfrew Skytrain Station on the Millennium Line. The Trans Canada Highway is only a mere five minutes away. So no matter where in the Metro Vancouver Area you’re coming from, we’re close to you.
Our centre is a bright, warm and comfortable place where your child will be encouraged to reach their full potential. Every element in our centre has been carefully chosen to enhance your child’s learning experience with us. The design team from Pai Font Design, who typically work on multi-million dollar complexes and luxury homes, carefully designed this space with your child in mind. Inefficient and noisy fluorescent lighting was replaced with warm, bright and environmentally friendly lighting. Healthy, eco-friendly, child safe paint from Benjamin Moore was selected to make the give the centre a vibrant feel. Old and well-worn carpet was ripped away and replaced with child friendly carpet and tile. Come visit us sometime and you will immediately sense the quality in our newly renovated centre.

Lighting elements were carefully selected to ensure your child will have enhanced focus and eyestrain will never be an issue.
The layout of our centre is maximized to provide an efficient learning environment for your children. The design was carefully considered to allow your child to explore, to cultivate an independent mind and a love of learning, all under the watchful eye of our caring, fully qualified staff.

A calm, clean and orderly work environment will ensure that your child will be able to reach their full potential under the eyes of our caring staff.
Brand new height adjustable tables were carefully chosen to provide your child with a comfortable seating arrangement, no matter what their age. A reading area with timeless classics selected by Kumon is available also to your child to enjoy upon completion of their in class work.

All fixtures and furnishings are carefully placed to promote your child's individuality and to foster independent learning.
